Gifts of the Dark Wood

sundays, THROUGH April 9 - early service, 8:30am, & traditional service, 10:30am

When you realize that there is more to life than meets the eye, you discover a longing to connect with the mystery of God.  That’s when you know you have entered the Dark Wood - a metaphor for the journey of awakening to a life with God more wonderful than you’ve ever imagined. The journey bears with it a particular Dark Wood gift: the gift of uncertainty — when you cannot see the endpoint of your journey, or the path ahead is not clearly marked.  Yet, a mature faith is one that embraces life as a mystery to be lived, not a problem to be solved— that accepts uncertainty as a gift, not a curse. Join us in the Chapel and Sanctuary as we explore the Gifts of the Dark Wood.

He(art) Matters

sundays, THROUGH April 9 - contemporary service, 10:30am

The path of life is rarely clear or straight-forward. Each day we may experience things like pain, joy, grief, beauty or vulnerability. But experiencing these things is only part of our journey. How do we share and express those matters of the heart with God and each other?
Art is a way we can journey towards a deeper relationship with God. Through different mediums we can encounter Christ in new ways, process grief and doubt, or experience the beauty of God. Engaging and creating art can give us words, images and emotions to help understand ourselves and God.
This Lent we will look inward to explore these matters of the heart with art in the Worship Center.
